Calé

every time i tell a new group of people my name they break into a vivid arguement about the meaning of my name. as many of you know, i have very little explanation for such things…after all the artist i was named after isn´t spelled OR pronounced the same way. moreover, i´ve found very very few references to my name throughout my life.

last year i discovered that you can find my name in mythology – a double winged argonaut who´s also a twin. well, now i have an even BETTER meaning (or at least a really beautiful piece of information)

Calé (pronounced the same as my name) is the name the bloodline of Spanish gypsies. cale calé means gypsy rhythm. the arguement is typically over whether Calé is the name of the gypsies themselves or the language they speak. after a bit of online research, turns out it´s the gypsy his/herself and they speak the language of Caló.

mom, dad…little did you know that what you name us has a grand bearing on who we will become… 😉
