a feast

what if barack obama – the new president of the most powerful country on earth – responded to the economic crisis by starting his term on a different note than anyone else has (to my knowledge). what if president obama got on television and said something like, “this saturday i would love to see every town put on a feast – maybe several feasts in different neighborhoods. i’d like my supporters in every area – and anyone else who wants change – to spearhead the project and make sure that everyone’s aware. people who can afford to bring food, bring all you can. people who can’t afford to bring food – come and eat. everyone, eat together and get to know one another. you want change? knowing and loving your neighbor is as grass-roots as it gets.”

imagine it for a second in action. people caring perfect strangers on a country-wide basis. simple things can have big effects.

just a thought i had.
