eddie love

eddie love’s first time west of the mississippi came by way of a moving company.  through his lone 6 teeth he told me about his journey: “a lot of work, but you get to see the world.”  i told him if he only does one thing that he has to see the pacific ocean before he leaves.  no, that he has to touch it.  he grew up in new orleans so he’s seen big water, but nothing compares to the pacific ocean.  he, shannon and i worked hard side by side by side sharing stories.  shannon and i worked out the business details – eddie and i talked with sparkles in our eyes.  mostly him talking and me listening.  i may have been to 17 more countries than him (come to think of it, i’ve probably been to 40 more states than him), but listening to him speak made me remember that i’m the one on the learning end.
