summer solstice

thunder rolled up the plains to the foothills today. enormous raindrops were welcome after such a scorching morning digging holes and planting plants and mulching mulch.

this evening morning glory and i met at juli’s house where the three of us departed on our rhubarb reconnaissance mission. i don’t think the neighbors would have minded even if they had been home.  while the cobbler baked we glued and clipped. we felt like little elves, but we managed to finish my 16 jacob’s ladders just before midnight. i think my kindergardeners will be pleased.

happy longest daylight of the year. i feel i lived seven days in one. in the best of ways.
