dramatime lodore

there were some incredible people and some epic moments on this last trip. weather was as fickle as it comes. just above triplet rapid (one of the biggies) as the first person pushed off it began to thunder. being last, just as i dropped into the upper part of the rapid it started pelting hail. i ran it through squinted eyes with dime-sized hail slamming down. just as i floated into the eddy at the bottom…silence. not even a drop of rain. it couldn’t have been more dramatic.

that night i learned my roll in the kayak and was able to paddle half the next day in the chocolate milk river. i got flipped a couple of times and, thankfully, was able to pull off my roll without a hitch. pretty sure my adrenals were completely drained by the end of it, though. fear is mighty exhausting.
