mistakes

my theology is forever morphing. for the last five years i’ve thought “mistakes” were, themselves, a figment of imagination. mistakes only lead to learning new things…growing in ways we couldn’t or wouldn’t had we taken the road we originally thought “right”.

well, i hereby retract my belief. mistakes exist – in that sometimes the good that comes from them doesn’t always measure up to the good that would have come from another option. good is good and bad usually turns to good, but there’s nothing that can replace best. and i guess once you figure out you left best behind…well…then you have to figure out how to pick up the pieces – all bent and mangled by this time – and build something that’s still damn good. consequences are certainly not fiction.
