class begins

last night my roommate, lauren, and i met her parents at her uncle’s house in nederland – a sweet little mining town up the canyon from my home. her uncle, kit, is a retired mechanical engineer and all-around creative individual who has now taken to woodworking full time. he makes absolutely beautiful furniture and actually built his log home up there in the hills. of course, it’s a work of art all on its own.

anyway, during a tour of his home i asked whether he’d consider taking me on as an apprentice. he accepted and today was my first day with many more to come. i feel so alive making the right cut, and sanding it to the perfect finish. this is the beginning of something great.

    OH, My… you’ve found your Heaven! Have fun but, watch out for those beautiful fingers and eyes. Wear and use the proper safety gear. Love you G-Ma (aka Momma)
